findings in a recent research on the lingerie market in Asia
as well as the lingerie trend worldwide in 2008.
Asia has become an important market for western and Asian
lingerie brands since 2000. The Asian lingerie
market grows tremendously – when the lingerie growth is 2.9% worldwide, the
average growth of Asia is 8% and China 11%, In view of the demographic
evolution in Asia, particularly in China and India, it shows that there will be
1 billion women aged over 15 in
both countries by 2014.
The
research shows that the lingerie sector in China is enjoying the strongest
growth with an average growth of 11% for the past five years while the average
growth for other apparel segment is 7.5%.
