Park’s visit was part of the promotion of the Games
held in Incheon. Park became goodwill ambassador for the city last
March.
"Dowon Aquatics Center has a lot of meaning to
me because this is where I won the ticket to the Athens Olympics in
2004," said Park prior to the fan meeting.
"I saw Park win the gold and silver in the
Beijing and London Olympics. Park in Korea, Sun Yang in China and
Kosuke Kitajima in Japan make Asia a powerhouse in swimming,"
said Jeremy Walker, an editor for Sporting Asia under the Olympic
Council of Asia.
Park spoke about his preparations for next year's
Asian Games in Incheon.
"I am training hard so I hope to perform well at
the Asians Games next year," said Park as he was leaving Dowon
Aquatics Center.

China’s final win pushed the country’s overall medal tally to 20, including 14 gold.
Four days of swimming end with 19 new Games records
The
25-meter short course swimming events drew to a close on Wednesday with
new Games records being set in 19 of the 30 categories.
Over the course of four days, swimmers, led by Chinese, competed in various categories to break and re-break Games records.
Of
the 19 new Games records, 13 were set by Chinese swimmers, while Korean
swimmers now hold three AIMAG short-course swimming records.
Two
of three swimming gold medals Kazakhstan took home were won in
record-breaking times, while 16-year-old Nguyen Thi Anh Vien of Vietnam
became the new record holder in the women’s 200-meter individual medley.
With
the Chinese setting new standards in nearly half of the categories,
they won 14 of the 30 gold medals on offer in swimming.
The largest number of multiple-gold medal winners also came from China.
