China
and Japan imposed their authority on proceedings in the Women’s
Team event at the Suzuki 2015 ITTF World Tour Asian Championships in
Pattaya, Thailand on the second day of action, Sunday 27th
September.
Both booked places in the final in most commanding
fashions; not one individual match was surrendered, no charity was
offered.
At
the quarter-final stage, China beat DPR Korea with Ding Ning giving
the top seeds and defending champions, the perfect start. She
accounted for Ri Myong Sun (11-9, 11-6, 5-11, 11-2), before Zhu
Yuling proved too consistent for Ri Mi Gyong and Chen Meng conclude
matters with victory over Kim Song I (8-11, 5-11, 11-5, 11-9, 12-10).
Meanwhile
for Japan, having beaten Chinese Taipei, the previous evening, it was
just one engagement on day two. They accounted for Hong Kong the
second seeds, to cause a minor upset.
Mima Ito beat Doo Hoi
Kem (8-11, 15-13, 11-2, 11-7), Ai Fukuhara overcame Lee Ho Ching
(11-4, 14-12, 11-5) with Miu Hirano defeating Minnie Soo Wai Yam to
conclude matters (11-9, 11-8, 11-5).
