China’s Guangzhou
Evergrande won the AFC Champions League for the second time in three
years as a goal from Brazilian striker Elkeson secured a 1-0 victory on
aggregate over 10-men Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates in Saturday’s
final second leg at Tianhe Sport Centre Stadium.
Having been on target in the
2013 final when Guangzhou defeated Korea Republic’s FC Seoul on away
goals to claim a first continental title in 23 years for China, Elkeson
ensured a repeat of history with his strike on 54 minutes to break the
deadlock.
And despite Al Ahli pushing for an equaliser, with a score-draw being
enough for the visitors to claim the title, the sending off of Salmin
Khamis proved an obstacle too big to overcome and sparked celebrations
amongst the capacity crowd in the southern Chinese city.

李永波所說的諶龍時是否真的來臨？在今屆香港超級賽中，諶龍在八強止步的成績來說，似乎成疑。諶龍與李宗偉過往的多次對賽，雖說是互有勝負，而近期更有四連勝的佳績，但在今次對賽中，諶龍雖然輕取第一局，但第二局開始戰情一直膠著，諶龍心理開始出現變，在比分至領先19:17時，一球必勝的機會下，球拍斷線，使擊球落網，由此諶龍心理出現極大變化，導致19:21失去第二局，第三局明顯看出諶龍思想混亂，完全以能力作戰，所有對戰技術無法運用，終以15:21 落敗，情況與上週的中國公開賽近似，由此看來要真正進入諶龍年代，還要看諶龍自己。
