北京2022冬季奧運會開幕式已於(2月4日)北京時間晚上8時，在北京國家體育場「鳥巢」順利舉行。中國香港代表團亦有出席，由滑冰運動員朱定文擔任持旗手進場為港隊在北京的冬奧之旅揭開序幕。而滑雪運動員金和曉、翁厚全及教練正按《防疫指引》隔離，因此未能出席開幕典禮。

北京是奧運史上首個既舉辦過夏季奧運會，又舉辦冬季奧運會的城市，而曾執導北京2008奧運會開閉幕式的張藝謀，亦再次成為北京冬奧及冬殘奧會開閉幕式的總導演。因天氣、疫情關係，開幕式規模縮減到3000人、表演濃縮至100分鐘，並以「簡約、安全、精彩」為創作原則，展現世界人民追求美好未來的共同心願。

中國香港代表團成員已全數抵達北京，作最後的備戰。滑冰運動員朱定文將出戰男子500米短道速滑賽；而滑雪運動員翁厚全將出戰男子高山滑雪項目。滑雪運動員金和曉在2月9日比賽前6小時會再進行一次核酸測試，結果呈陰性就可以參加比賽。

港協暨奧委會衷心感謝各政府部門包括民政事務局及康樂及文化事務署，贊助機構和合作夥伴對中國香港代表團的鼎力支持，包括 FILA Marketing (Hong Kong) Limited、日清食品有限公司、Mainetti Health Technologies Company Limited及OAKLEY。

"I have been involved in table tennis as a player till now, and I am thrilled WTT has recognised my results and experience," said Fukuhara. I had the honour of being approached by WTT Council Chair Liu Guoliang and ITTF Group CEO Steve Dainton to take up the role of WTT Japan General Manager. I'll work very hard and try my best to meet the essential and pressing needs of the players.

"As WTT Japan General Manager, I'll be able to support the players and the table tennis family from a different angle and perspective, and I hope to be able to liven up the sport. I feel that the WTT events are really player-centric, which will benefit the players greatly. Moreover, the competition setting now is truly exciting. And I think that's an excellent thing. I started playing when I was three years old, and I've learnt a lot from table tennis. I would like to pass my experience down to the next generation, to focus on the important needs of the players, and work hard for them."

Fukuhara's missions include generating tournament opportunities for WTT, driving sponsorship and investment efforts, supporting the sport's growth, and boosting media rights sales in Japan.
