PANMUNJOM, SOUTH KOREA - A South Korea soldier stand guard at the truce
village of Panmunjom in the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) separating the two
Koreas, south of Seoul July 10, 2013. Located within the Demilitarized
Zone, the Joint Security Area is the most forward location that can be
visited by people in South Korea. North Korea proposed holding talks on
two issues South Korea has been seeking to resolve for years, after it
failed to win the South’s agreement to reopen a factory park that has
been a source of hard currency.
