Incheon, Sep. 24 – Thailand defeated Hong Kong 13 - 7 in Munhak Baseball Stadium on Wednesday, earning its first victory after two grueling defeats from South Korea and Taipei. 

During the earlier part of the game, Hong Kong had led Thailand with a margin of one (4: 3). But as Joseph Matthew Daru and Sanyalak Pipatpinyo from Thailand scored 3 points in the 4th inning, the match started to favor Thailand. Starting the 5th inning with a score of 6: 5, Thailand seized the initiative by making three more points just during the 6th when Hong Kong earned none. At the end of the day, team Thailand defeated Hong Kong 13:7. 

Masao Tokunaga, coach of Thai team, commented, “I am very glad. We won because my players worked hard.” On his players today, he said he had three aces and one more who “is currently in the States.” He showed confidence in “improv[ing] them to be in the top tier of Asian baseball players in 5, 10 years.”
