Incheon Asian Games diving events end with brighter future ahead for the hosts |

Incheon, Oct. 3 -- As the 2014 Incheon Asian Games came to an end,
Chinese divers have once again dominated the diving pool as always,
claiming all 10 gold medals in both the men and women’s events. However,
it was South Korean young hopefuls, Kim Yeong-nam and Woo Ha-ram that
stood out among China’s flawless performances.
Chinese divers have claimed gold in all events since the Tehran Asian
Games in 1974, leaving Malaysia, Japan, and North Korea fight for
silver and bronze. South Korea has never been noticed much at the Asian
Games, as they have not won a single medal in the individual events
since 1986, when Lee Sun-gee won bronze in the men’s 3m springboard.

Players
from the LPGA Tour enjoy a traditional Chinese welcome
when they arrived in Beijing today ahead of the second edition of the
Reignwood LPGA Classic which tees off on the Nicklaus Course at Pine
Valley Golf Club.
Defending
Champion and World No.9 Shanshan Feng from China was joined by World
No.2 Inbee Park and World No.6 So Yeon Ryu from South Korea, Brittany
Lang from the
US and China’s Xiyu Lin for the official tournament photo-call during
which they were served Chinese tea, before posing in the courtyard of a
traditional Chinese building.
The
Reignwood Classic sees players compete for Asia’s largest prize purse
of US$2.1m in the 72-hole, no-cut tournament, which will be staged on
the Nicklaus Course
at the Pine Valley Golf Club from 2 – 5 October 2014.
