The 17th Asian Games closed with a spectacular ceremony on Oct. 4 to imprint "our cherished memories of Incheon," the host city in the minds of all athletes who competed in 16 days of competition under the common theme of "One Asia."
 
The ceremony held at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium came to a close with the exinguishing of torch flames. The host city handed over the OCA flag to Jakarta, Indonesia, which will hold the 18th edition in 2018.
 
K-pop girl grup SISTAR warmed up the festive atmosphere as the first act to take to the stage for the closing ceremony. Rainbow Choir of children from multicultural families performed under the theme 'Harmony of Dreams'
The flag of the OCA and the national flag of Indonesia, the next host country, were hoisted.
 
Jakarta, Indonesia showcased its traditional dances: Ronggeng Dance expressing "the Colors of Jakarta," Palembang Darussalam showing "the Spirit of South Sumatra" and Pusparagam Rampak Dance symbolizing "Harmony and Unity."
 
"The Asian Games are not only about medals, but also about representing your country, trying your best and taking pride in your flag," said OCA president Al-Fahad Al-Sabah. "They are about sportsmanship and fair play, and about friendship and team spirit."
 
The Samsung MVP Award went to Japanese swimmer Kosuke Hagino, who has won four gold medals in the Incheon Asian Games.
 
South Korean boy bands, CNBLUE and Big Bang, performed in the ceremony.
