Andy Murray always loves playing at the Shanghai Rolex Masters but the Scot made his earliest exit when he went out in the third round, losing 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 to David Ferrer.

For the second night in a row Roger Federer was last to finish but on this occasion the tension was not nearly as high as in his previous match when he faced five match points. Federer accounted for Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 6-2 and that filled the last quarterfinal place. Federer will face Frenchman Julien Benneteau.
