ITTF World Team Cup Kick Starts 2015 in Dubai |

The
world's best table tennis players have put away their suits and
dresses from the ITTF Star Awards and picked up their rackets for the
beginning of the 2015 ITTF World Team Cup starting today in Dubai.
The
biennial event invites the top 12 teams, which are made up of six
continental teams who qualified as champions of their respective
Continental Championships, an additional five teams who finished
highest positions at the ZEN-NOH 2014 World Team Table Tennis
Championships, plus one team from the host nation United Arab
Emirates.
Newly
crowned 2014 ITTF Female Table Tennis Star and world number one DING
Ning will lead the Chinese women's team's quest for gold. This task
will not be easy, with Singapore, Japan and Romania all vying to
cause an upset.
The
playing system at the World Team Cup is the same as the team event of
the Olympic Games. Each team selects three players, that plays in two
singles matches, then doubles, followed by reverse singles, with the
first team to win three games winning the match.
The
first stage of the competition is a round robin, with the 12 teams
being split into four groups of three. The top two teams from each
group will progress to the knockout quarter finals!

Seven
awards were handed out at the prestigious ITTF Star Awards, which
took place this evening at the base of the world's tallest building,
to recognize the achievements of athletes and coaches in 2014.
The
two most eyed awards of the night, the Male and Female Table Tennis
Stars were decided by 60,000 public votes from all around the globe,
combined with the judging results of an expert panel. The expert
panel consisted of a representative from the ITTF Athletes
Commission, the ITTF Para Division, the ITTF President, and four
members of the international media.
ARUNA
fended off tough competition from world number one XU Xin (CHN),
Youth Olympic Champion FAN Zhendong (CHN) and European Team
Championships gold medalist Marcos FREITAS (POR), to win the
distinguished title presented by Ping Pong Dubai.
The
two-time Women's World Cup winner stated: "We had a great
evening in Dubai. Thanks ITTF and all the people who are helped made
me who I am today. Thank you to my coach, my team and all my fans for
supporting me."

假旺角大球場舉行之第37屆省港盃次回合賽事，香港以0:0與廣東打成平手，兩回合合計廣東以1:0擊敗香港奪得今屆冠軍。今天的入場人數為3,779，購票人數為3,667，門券收入港幣$188,510元正。
比賽展開初段戰情快上快落。10分鐘，徐德帥左邊短傳予羅港威，後者伺機起腳可惜掠門而過。18分鐘，吳偉安左路半窩利抽射卻見遠遠偏離目標。19
分鐘，黄威後腳妙傳郭建邦大腳傳中，麥基頭槌僅僅頂斜。23分鐘，葉偉超接應隊友長傳個人突破然後起腳，被門將王振鵬輕易沒收。補時階段，吳偉安主射罰球
卻見僅僅高出。半場休息兩軍暫時以0:0打成平手。
下半場展開港隊積極進攻，希望取得關鍵性入球。57分鐘，羅港威左路傳中，林學曦前柱快射省中對手出界。59分鐘，馮俊彥於峨嵋月附近施射可惜高
出。64分鐘，羅港威峨嵋月對出轉身抽射可惜無功而回。67分鐘，楊超聲接應隊友長傳推入港隊腹地卻告射斜。75分鐘，盧琳一記遠距離笠射可惜僅僅斜出。
79分鐘，楊超聲左路斬中，黄浩軒後柱快射竟告出界。補時階段，楊超聲快腳從王振鵬腳下奪走皮球，可惜竟又中柱彈出。
