Hong Kong Hosts Top Snookers Downtown For HKSAR Anniversary Celebration

[June 21, 2007, Hong Kong] Four form Europe and four from Asia, these eight top and household snooker names will come to Hong Kong this summer, to take part in the "Celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the HKSAR - Euro - Asia Snooker Master Challenge 2007.

The Tournamnet servers as one of the major spots in the Celebration of 10th Anniversary of the Establishment of the HKSAR.

With the rising of Oriental force recently, the sport of snooker becomes more popular in the region. And there are more competitive tournaments going on in Asia and draw lots of attention around the globe.

The confirmed powerful European contestants including:

the 'Wizard of Warsaw' John Higgins (World No 1)

the 'Krafty Ken' Doherty (World No 4)

the 'Rocket' Ronnie O'Sullivan (World No 5) and the 'Golden Boy' Stephen Hendry (World No 8), each of them at least lifted the trophy at the World Championship once. On the other side,

the 'Chinese Prodigy' Ding Junhui (World No 9) will join the Thailand snooker icon James Wattana (World No 33) and his compatriot, the new born 2007 Asian Compion, Supoj Saenla with local Marco Fu to from Asia powerhouses.

Sentosa, Singapore, May 27, 2007 - Talita Antuntes and Renata Ribeiro completed their most successful weekend in the past 20 months on the SWATCH-FIVB World Tour as the young Brazilians “surprised” the top two teams on the international Beach Volleyball circuit to capture the US$200,000 Singapore Open here Sunday on Siloso Beach.

Seeded third in the 32-team Main Draw field for the inaugural Singapore Open, Talita and Renata won their first SWATCH stop since September 2005 to claim their third FIVB gold medal together by upsetting second-seeded Jie Wang and Jia Tian 21-15 and 21-19 in 43 minutes to avenge an earlier defeated in the competition to the Chinese pair.

Combined with their 21-18 and 21-16 semi-final victory Saturday afternoon over top-seeded Juliana Felisberta Silva and Larissa Franca of Brazil, Talita and Renata captured the $32,000 first-place prize at the second of 18 stops on the 2007 women’s SWATCH-FIVB World Tour calendar. Renata and Talita previous SWATCH gold medals were back-to-back titles in September 2005 in Athens and Bali.
